When you hire a car from Yes Rentals New Zealand, the rental vehicle fees are including basic Vehicle Insurance, but you may be liable for any excess payment due. To limit your risk exposure, there are three options offered for excess liability coverage. The following is a guide to the different excess options available.

BASIC INSURANCE PACKAGE

All cars hired by Yes Rentals include Basic Insurance for no extra charge. Basic Insurance carries a variable excess liability (deductible) depending on the class of vehicle.

This means that in the unfortunate event that the rental vehicle is involved in an accident or is damaged, you are liable for the associated excess value to cover any damage costs.

Collision Damage Waiver Insurance (Maximum Excess: 4900NZD) 

Theft Waiver Insurance (Maximum Excess: 4900NZD) 

Third-Party Liability Protection Insurance (Maximum Excess: 4000NZD) 

Window and Tyres Insurance (Maximum Excess: 2900NZD) 

REDUCE RISK INSURANCE PACKAGE

Yes Rentals provides Basic Insurance with all of its cars at no additional charge. However, you can choose to reduce your excess liability by purchasing Reduce Risk Insurance.

When making your reservation, simply select the Limited Excess Reduction Cover option under 'Extras'.

Whether you are at fault or not, as a renter you are responsible for the excess.

Upon completion of the repairs and finalization of the costs, Yes Rentals will refund the difference between the total cost and the excess amount. You will be charged the excess amount up to the maximum amount.

ZERO-RISK INSURANCE PACKAGE

You should consider Zero Risk Insurance if you want to cover all risks when you hit the road. When making your reservation, simply select the Zero Risk Insurance option on the 'Extras' step to reduce your excess liability to zero.

Vehicle groups may have different excess levels and you may not be able to reduce the excess to zero on all vehicle classes (Transfer Car Order Excluding).

We strongly recommend all renters take the Zero Risk Insurance for peace of mind while driving. Pay Less, Save More for your lovely trip. Enjoy the Carefree Travel.
